Ticketmaster Will Require A Covid Vaccine Or Negative Test To Enter Venue

Billboard has just released a report that shows what plans Ticketmaster may be doing in order to get fans back to seeing their favorite artists.

The new plan which Billboard does state is still in development, so things can easily change, will require fans to either have had a Covid-19 vaccine or test negative for Covid within 72 hrs of the show.

“Here’s how it would work, if approved: After purchasing a ticket for a concert, fans would need to verify that they have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert. The length of coverage a test would provide would be governed by regional health authorities — if attendees of a Friday night concert had to be tested 48 hours in advance, most could start the testing process the day before the event. If it was a 24-hour window,  most people would likely be tested the same day of the event at a lab or a health clinic.”

A fan would get tested, then their results would be reported to a health pass company, who would in turn deliver this information to Ticketmaster, advising whether the fan is safe to enter.

Ticketmaster is also working on getting rid of the paper ticket system (no more using ticket as souvenir), and creating a new “SmartEvent” system that will also help with scalping.

What do you think of this new development? Things can and probably will change, but would you get a test to go see your favorite band?
