Riley Gale was a positive force in the Dallas community. The Power Trip vocalist was a big supporter of the LGBTQ+ movement and his sudden passing in August was devastating for many.
After his passing, his family asked for donations to be made in his honor to Dallas Hope Charities, a non-profit program that helps LGBTQ+’s homeless youth. Because of all the donations, the charity was able to buy a new transition house. To help honor Gale’s memory, they will be naming the new house after him.
Dallas Hope Charities CEO Evie Scrivner said, “We had no idea what that would result in, but the metal, thrasher community is like the most giving, generous, connected — it’s crazy just the people that have come together.”
Gale also had a Dallas Hope Charity library named after him, due to his love of reading. Gale was always one to give back, often times donating money from Power Trip shows to the organization.
