The Wall Street Journal recently spoke with KISS bassist Gene Simmons. According to WSJ, Simmons has placed his California mansion that he’s lived in since 1984, on the market. His asking price? $22 million! Gene bought the house for $1.35 million 36 years ago, but has put in over $12 million in renovations over the years. So what does $22 million buy you? 16,000-square feet, a swimming pool with a 60-foot water slide, a tennis court and parking for 35 cars. You know, in case you want to throw a party, post pandemic of course. You can view the listing for his home below.
Simmons and his wife Shannon have bought a 24 acre estate in Washington near Mount Rainier. When he was asked why he’s leaving California after all these years he advised, “California and Beverly Hills have been treating folks that create jobs badly and the tax rates are unacceptable. I work hard and pay my taxes and I don’t want to cry the Beverly Hills blues, but enough is enough.”
Simmons also placed his Laurel Canyon, California home up for sale this past summer for $2.2 million.
