Corey Taylor Reveals That Slipknot Is Thinking About Maybe Releasing A New Album In 2021

Corey Taylor was recently a guest on “Good Company” with Scott Bowling. During the interview Taylor was asked what Slipknot has planned for 2021.

Taylor said, “The plan right now with Slipknot is to try and a) finish up the touring next year, and b) we’re thinking about kind of putting another album out maybe next year. But I don’t know. I don’t know what the plan is yet. I just know that we all kind of feel like there’s unfinished business and we wanna finish that out before we do anything. But I know that we were talking about doing it, ’cause we only have one album left on our contract [with our record label].”

What Taylor said does echo what M. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan stated earlier this month during a Slipknot No. 9 Iowa Whiskey signing. “Since everybody’s taken a lot of time off, we thought we’d utilize it by getting together and do what we probably do best, which is write music,” Crahan said.

Crahan continued, “So it’s been good, because there’s no pressure. It’s not like we have to. We’re doing it ’cause we want to. And it’s just been a blessing, because boredom can set in. And I know all of us in the world are going crazy, so we’re really lucky to be able to be together and do what we love most.”

Crahan was then asked if he thinks the impact that Covid-19 has had on 2020 would impact Taylor’s writing at all. “We don’t usually speak for Corey, or whatever, but I can imagine that anything that affects him and affects us and affects you will be included. To the extent, I don’t know how blatant it will be, I don’t know, but we are all living this, and everybody’s involved. I wouldn’t really know what what road [Corey] is gonna be going down or information that he wants to spread. I’m not sure. We’re not quite there yet.”

Well here is hoping that 2021 allows us to hear some new Slipknot! You can view the interview with Taylor below.
